FAQ
Have the NaTrue founding companies developed the criteria to suit their products or will formulations have to be changed?
The scientific body commissioned to develop the criteria consisted not only of experts from the NaTrue founding companies but also of experts from other companies who have the necessary competence and interest in high standard natural cosmetics.
When developing the criteria the emphasis was on the consistent definition of permissible substances and complete transparency vis a vis consumers. The intention was not to adapt the guidelines to existing ranges of the NaTrue founding companies that currently carry for example the BDIH or EcoCert labels.
Some derived natural substances, which are currently permitted by other natural cosmetic labels and are also used, are not permitted by NaTrue. NaTrue also differs from the other labels on the market up to now through the additional laying down of maximum levels for derived natural raw materials.
Hence the NaTrue founding firms must also check all their formulations and, if necessary, change them in order to qualify for the NaTrue Label in future.
