Who acts as a certification company? Will there just be one or several companies? How is independence guaranteed?

Anyone can apply to be a certifier as long as he/she has the required expert knowledge. IKW has an open list of all recognised certifiers which can also be accessed on www.natrue-label.de. The certifiers work independently but must enter into a contractual commitment to certify products in line with the criteria specified by NaTrue. They are also regularly audited.
