Aren't there enough labels already?

There are indeed too many labels, and this is a problem.  Labels differ not only from one country to another but also in the same country and new ones constantly continue to appear. Often the criteria are not transparent; their quality varies considerably, some labels mask business interests. It is difficult, If not impossible to compare the criteria.

In recent years efforts have been made to standardise the criteria for labels beyond national borders. Because of the different interests involved these discussions have failed to date. This is not in the best interest of consumers.

Only an international label, with - criteria ensuring - product quality, can provide the necessary guidance.
