Does a company have to be a member of NaTrue to have its products certified?

No, NaTrue membership is not a prerequisite for certification. Every company can apply for certification and every product that fulfils the criteria will be certified. The only requirement is that within a product range, at least 75% of the individual cosmetic products (formulations) must be certified by NaTrue as natural or organic.

NaTrue’s goal is to establish a transparent label, the criteria of which are solely based on consumer expectations as opposed to business interests; something which requires openness and honesty.
